On this day, I visited Kumamoto Prefecture in the Kyushu region for work.

Eiichiro Oda, the creator of “ONE PIECE,” is from Kumamoto City in Kumamoto Prefecture. In support of the recovery efforts following the Kumamoto Earthquake in 2016, he sent a message saying, “I will definitely come to help.”

Currently, there are statues of ten characters from the Straw Hat Crew, including Luffy, installed throughout the prefecture, turning them into tourist attractions (e.g., Usopp statue at Michi-no-Eki Aso, Jinbe at Sumiyoshi Beach Park, Luffy at the Kumamoto Prefectural Office).

The power of beloved characters is invaluable in regional revitalization. Not only the government but also our company needs to embrace flexible thinking.
