REIGN.925 — L.S. TOY AND JET LE PARTI LAUNCH A NEW FRAMEWORK FOR ARTISTIC AUTHORSHIP

Reign.925 is a collaborative entity formed by artists L.S. Toy and Jet Le Parti, emerging as a conceptual system that redefines what artistic authorship and value mean in a post-authentic era.

Rather than a partnership in the traditional sense, Reign.925 operates as a mutual contamination — a process through which emotion and administration, gesture and system, collapse into one another. The project investigates how contemporary creation functions less as expression and more as formatted labor.

L.S. Toy, a London-based conceptual artist with backgrounds in economics (LSE) and art (RCA), is known for currency sculptures, legal-style documentation, and meticulous studies of power. The work focuses on the violence of systems with bureaucratic precision.

Jet Le Parti, a German-American artist based between Brooklyn and Berlin, brings what he terms “poetic violence”: an instinctive, visceral approach spanning painting, writing, and sound. He is the founder of Base 36, an artist-run platform exploring new models of production and dissemination.

Together, through Reign.925, they construct “administrative documents that bleed” — hybrid works where Toy’s serial logic meets Le Parti’s expressive fracture. The name references both the sterling-silver purity mark (.925) and the 9-to-5 framework of standardized labor, binding questions of authenticity and value to industrial repetition.

Their debut exhibition, Termination Notice, served as the conceptual foundation of the project and declared the symbolic end of the contract between artist and audience. While future presentations are planned, Reign.925 functions primarily as an evolving system of research, performance, and documentation — a living dossier on art’s exhaustion and reconfiguration.

By merging economic language with emotional residue, Reign.925 reveals how even resistance has become procedural. It stands as both diagnosis and demonstration of the cultural machinery artists now inhabit.
