Weekly Horoscope June 29 — July 5, 2026
Mercury Retrograde, Full Moon in Capricorn, and Jupiter’s Bold Leap into Leo

Welcome to your Weekly Horoscope(s)!
I hope you’re keeping well as we head into this incredibly eventful week. If there’s one word that could describe the upcoming days, it’s intensity, but also possibility. This is because several major planetary shifts occur within a few days, which can seem overwhelming at first, but it can also create strong momentum and the chance for significant change.
We begin with Mercury stationing retrograde in Cancer on June 29th. Mercury will be moving backwards (as seen from the position on Earth) through Cancer until July 23rd, so this retrograde has a distinctly emotional, inward-looking tone. Cancer is the sign of home, family, memory (ruled by the Moon), and emotional security, which means that over the coming three weeks, many of us will be revisiting conversations, relationships, and unresolved feelings connected to these themes. During this time, old messages may come up to the surface, certain plans may move at a slower pace or need rethinking and communication, especially any personal and domestic matters may require more patience and clarity than usual.
Remember to back up your important files and data, read contracts carefully, and avoid making quick decisions about important matters, especially early on. That said, Mercury retrograde is not all disruption. It can be an excellent time for reflection, inner work, reconnecting with people and ideas from the past, and finishing what was previously left incomplete.
The same evening brings a Full Moon in Capricorn at 8° (June 29th). Full Moons are moments of culmination, clarity, and sometimes release and in Capricorn, the themes are achievement, ambition, responsibility, and long-term goals. This Full Moon may illuminate something we’ve been working toward for a while, such as a professional matter, a financial situation, or a structural part of our life, that is either coming to fruition or asking to be restructured. Since the Moon is also opposing the Sun in Cancer, there can be some tension between our emotional needs and our responsibilities, between home life and career-related matters, or between what feels comfortable and what is required of us.
Then, on June 30th, Jupiter enters Leo, and this is one of the most exciting astrological events of the year. Jupiter is the planet of growth, abundance, expansion, and opportunity. For the past year, it has been moving through Cancer, bringing expansion to matters of home, family, and emotional life. Now it shifts into Leo, where it will remain for approximately the next twelve months. Jupiter in Leo is generous, creative, and celebratory. It expands the themes of self-expression, creativity, confidence, leadership, romance, joy, and the courage to be truly ourselves. Collectively and individually, this transit invites us to step a little more fully into the spotlight, to believe in our own gifts, and to pursue what genuinely lights us up. This is without a doubt a major theme for the months ahead.
However, Jupiter’s entry into Leo comes with an immediate challenge as Jupiter squares Chiron in Aries on July 2nd. This aspect can stir up old wounds around confidence, identity, visibility, or worthiness, the very areas Jupiter in Leo wants to expand. Growth and healing are rarely entirely separate processes, and this square reminds us that expansion sometimes requires confronting what has been holding us back. This is a time to be gentle with oneself, since also on July 2nd, Mars squares the North Node in Pisces, bringing a moment of friction and tension between where we’re headed collectively and the actions we’re taking (or not taking). This transit can feel like a fork in the road, a situation that challenges us to choose between what’s easy and familiar and what’s actually aligned with our growth and purpose.
The energy then changes significantly as Mars conjuncts Uranus in Gemini on July 4th, bringing sudden changes, unexpected events, breakthroughs, and a strong desire to break free from whatever feels restrictive. At its best, this energy is liberating and exciting. At its most challenging, it can be impulsive or destabilising. The best way to channel this energy is by engaging in creative problem-solving and projects. This is not a good time to take courageous action, but rather to make reactive decisions that you might later regret.
The week concludes on a more flowing note, as Mars sextiles Neptune on July 5th and Mars trines Pluto the same day. These aspects help ground the more volatile energy of Uranus and support meaningful, purposeful movement forward.
