The quiet stairs

Speaking from the bottom to the top

Is something that just needs to stop

No one can hear what is being said

Or whether the news is new or dead

You can’t hear someone clearly

When their effort to speak is but merely

The muffled voice down below

Matters not if it's fast or slow

When the distance between is afar

And the stairwell itself leaves a scar
