Mark Rutte: A Shill For All Seasons

The Great Appeaser Needs To Go

For those of us member states that are part of NATO, the assumption is that those who lead the organization will have its best interests at heart.

I have always believed this was true, until Mr. Rutte rose to the position as the Secretary-General of NATO. Mr. Rutte seems more concerned with not ruffling the feathers of Donald Trump’s golden plumage than he does standing up for NATO.

His ‘beliefs’, personal and obviously near irrelevant, should be kept to himself, and instead, he should be standing up for NATO, not America’s interests.

America should not be part of an alliance, which is basically having to fight two wars, – one with Russia, and the other with the United States. Flattering Trump is ludicrous. The man is a coward, liar, thief, and adjudicated rapist, for a start.

It’s time for NATO to “tell” America to leave, and with it, all of its bases in Europe. No nation should give a damn about offending a nation that is both, neither a democracy and cannot be trusted to adhere to NATO’s security articles.

No NATO nation should be buying any weaponry from the United States, which may well disallow access to essential components, replacements or servicing of those same weapons and systems.

NATO needs to come to terms with the fact that America is no ally. Period. It’s time to accept that fact, determine a new military hierarchy, command structure and force assignment and distribution. Forward deployment is essential, as it unlikely that Mr. Putin will provide a letter to each nation stating his intentions and timeline.

A new structure must take into consideration the deficiencies and resources and within a coalition of the willing reach determinations that can and will protect Ukraine in the future.

The strengthening of the military industrial complex, both in Europe, Canada, the U.K., Australia and NZ recognizes the obvious need. For too long, America was trusted and depended upon to procure armaments, munitions and ammunition. No more.

America is diverting weapons sold to the EU in order to refill their shortfalls caused by their attacks on Iran. It will take up to two years to rectify this problem alone. And because of that reality, it mandates that NATO develop its own internal supply chain and production facilities and to standardize these systems in order for the membership to align itself with both procurement, manufacture and delivery of these systems for what appears to be an impending war in Europe.

The other reality is that the United States has hegemonic goals that directly conflict with the aims of NATO and the interests of individual NATO member states, like Canada and Denmark.

Rapidly strengthening NATO while doing so from within NATO’s membership and without the United States, is requisite. From design, testing, manufacturing to delivery and the stockpiling of weapons and weapon systems for the future, NATO cannot rely on America, nor should it.

NATO’s European members and Canada will purchase 1.5 trillion dollars worth of weapons and weapon systems in the next ten years. It is essential that those purchases support NATO, not the United States.

The reality is that NATO may well be defending against the United States at the current rate of affairs.

America, and Americans are only interested in a zero-sum game whereby America profits at the expense of Europe, Canada and NATO’s partners.
