I stopped believing in Alternate reality.

So last week when I heard about the nation medical entrance exam, people said it was easy this year. The only thought that kept running in mind was – what if I had taken one more gap year, what if I had one more opportunity and many what if’s kept me up at night.

But I know believe that there could be not other reality other than I’m living right now. I made a decision which was the best I could do with the knowledge, experience and circumstances at that time.

I strongly believe that this reality was predetermined by many factors that influenced my decision.

For example the childhood I had with one question rolling round and round – what do you want to become when you grow up?Like how can you ask a question like that to someone who doesn’t know anything about the career. So what ever was put up in a child’s mind he will tend to go after that because he had limited knowledge.

Now comes other factors like society status, peers pressure, our past experiences, reviews given to us, our emotions or the opportunities given to us and the circumstances.

Another example is, you saw classmates using iPads for note-taking, watched positive reviews online, or noticed advertisements highlighting their features. Maybe your university coursework requires digital note-taking, or your friends recommended one based on their own experiences. Your financial situation also plays a role: if you can comfortably afford it, buying the iPad becomes a realistic option; if not, you might postpone the purchase regardless of how much you want it.

In the end, the decision may still feel like your own, but it was shaped by a combination of influences – social recommendations, marketing, practical needs, personal preferences, and financial circumstances.

The final decision is yours, but it is made within a web of influences that help shape the outcome.
