Yummy
Following the food- and sharing-concept posts, I noticed that something was missing. Moreover, there is an underestimated pleasure. Yes, that’s it. And the star of this blog post is Turkish lentil balls.
Texture
They are the main character of women’s gatherings, tea parties, and veggie menus. So they are also a great contributor to healthy eating. On the other hand, there is an issue with the texture of these tasty bombs.
For me, boiling the lentils is the hardest part. And getting them to the perfect consistency is really important. Only then it is possible to mix in the ingredients — parsley, onion (I prefer only spring onion, but if there isn’t any, I use regular onion as usual), and spices, especially cumin. The smell of cumin is the best touch for me.
It’s the sexy chick.
Confession Without Defense
To be honest, at least from my perspective, based on my experiences and skills, if you can’t stop boiling the lentils at the perfect degree, you may end up with something like lentil soup — which means failure. I don’t even dare mention the sticky, burnt lentils left in the pan. That’s a nightmare. Because you start all this work to have fresh and delicious veggie balls. Then, if you succeed, you can place your result into fresh lettuce, add some lemon and maestro! I can still smell the sexy cumin.
From my point of view, every food has its own partner or contributor, and cumin is that one in this recipe. At the same time, texture has a vital role in defining the food as Turkish lentil balls. Otherwise, it may just be a batter.
Why Lentil…?
I want to share this to remind myself how to create a seductive version of an unpopular food — especially a specific type of legume. I want to think about how to apply this approach to my life: how to achieve a lovely and satisfying result with something I don’t rate or choose, but accept fully.
I think I also mentioned the same issue in my former post, *“Lentil Manipulation.” *Now, this post becomes the second lentil manipulation. Possibly, it’s one of the most positive manipulations ever. It’s the weirdest Turkish lentil balls recipe. Because it isn’t an exact recipe.
What is your weirdest recipe? What is the sexy contributor to your underestimated food? What is your positive manipulation?
