Bloodlines and Oaths: The Spiritual Price of Black Greek Letter Organizations

This Message Is Long Overdue.

I’ve taken my time with this message. I needed space to heal, to connect with the Creator, and to sit in deep meditation about how best to deliver what’s been placed on my spirit.

I was called to speak on this a few years ago, but I held back. At the time, I didn’t feel fully healed or ready, and in some ways, I wasn’t. But during my solitude, I’ve been blessed with revelations. And with revelation comes responsibility.

I know this message may upset some. Some will dismiss it. Some just won’t like me, and that’s okay. None of that changes the truth. I answer to something greater than people’s opinions. And when The Creator says move, I move.

So here it is:

My Story

In 2016, while a junior in college, I joined a Black Greek Letter Organization. I believed I’d done my research. I thought I knew what I was getting into. I didn’t.

I was unaware of the deeper spiritual and energetic implications, not just for me, but for my bloodline.

This post is broken into three parts: The History, The Physical, and The Spiritual.

Part I: The History

“When you don’t know your history, you are destined to repeat it.”

Black Greek Letter Organizations (BGLOs) began with groups like the Boule, formed by members of the so-called “Talented Tenth,” Black college-educated elites. Denied entry into white Greek life, they created their own versions, mirroring the very systems that excluded them.

Thinkers like W.E.B. DuBois, who supported this approach, often opposed leaders like Marcus Garvey and Booker T. Washington, who emphasized self-reliance, Pan-Africanism, and ancestral wisdom.

The problem? These early founders chose Western ideals over the ancient spiritual knowledge that had been stripped away by slavery and colonization. Instead of reclaiming indigenous wisdom, many sought assimilation through Greek-inspired education, education rooted in teachings stolen from African mystery schools and repackaged under foreign systems.

The “Divine Nine,” for instance, reflects the Ennead: nine deities of ancient Egypt, each a guardian of a spiritual gateway and keeper of sacred knowledge. In ancient times, those chosen to hold these keys were entrusted with the responsibility of protecting and preserving divine wisdom for the good of the people. Secret societies once served as sanctuaries for such truths, guiding initiates on a sacred path of inner transformation.

But that original purpose has been deeply corrupted. Today, much of this ancient knowledge has been stolen from its rightful gatekeepers and is now wielded by false leaders, not to enlighten, but to control. Only a hidden few within these modern organizations hold the deeper understanding behind their rituals, using it not to uplift others, but to maintain systems of power, secrecy, and manipulation.

Part II: The Spiritual

“They break you down to build you up.”

But the question is: who is doing the building? And what are they building you into?

A secret society is, by definition, one with concealed knowledge and practices. Many BGLO members may not consider themselves part of a secret society because, in many cases, they aren’t fully initiated into its deeper levels.

The underground, or “made,” process serves as the first initiation. It typically includes oaths and rituals performed in secrecy, echoing ancient rites of passage designed to dismantle the ego and awaken higher consciousness. But in this context, those sacred elements are removed from their divine origin and restructured to serve secrecy, control, and unquestioned allegiance to the organization.

The process of “crossing the burning sands” is far more than a catchy phrase. It marks a symbolic death and rebirth. It represents the shedding of your old identity and the forging of a new one, shaped through secrecy, suffering, and sworn allegiance to the organization. In ancient spiritual traditions, such rites of passage were sacred, designed to awaken divine purpose and elevate the soul. But in this modern context, that transformation often pulls you further from your true self, binding you instead to man-made systems and unseen spiritual agreements you may not fully grasp.

During this process, you surrender more than your time and energy; you relinquish your sovereignty. You are encouraged, and often pressured, to dissolve your individuality in the name of unity with your line brothers or sisters. The mantra becomes “one band, one sound, ”a collective identity that appears empowering but often comes at the cost of your voice, your discernment, and your divine uniqueness. In the pursuit of belonging, you may unknowingly trade your spiritual freedom for the illusion of fellowship.

As you ascend through the ranks, you may be invited into deeper layers of initiation, each level promising more power, status, and exclusive access. On the surface, it resembles the structure of ancient mystery schools, where each stage was a sacred step toward divine wisdom. But in this modern imitation, the sacred path has been inverted. What was once meant to liberate and uplift the soul now often entraps it, binding you to ego, secrecy, and systems of control.

Many of these deeper rituals involve intentional humiliation and dehumanization, breaking you down not for enlightenment, but for manipulation. They are designed to erode your sense of self, replacing it with obedience and dependency. In some cases, compromising acts are witnessed, recorded, or institutionalized in ways that amount to spiritual and psychological blackmail, ensuring your silence and loyalty. Even if you begin to see the truth behind the organization’s hidden agendas and harmful practices, the weight of secrecy and fear keeps many bound.

What masquerades as brotherhood or sisterhood becomes a contract, one that exchanges your autonomy for inclusion, and your discernment for belonging.

Even if you’re never “chosen” to advance into the deeper layers of initiation, your mere participation can open spiritual gateways… often without your conscious awareness. These hidden oaths don’t just affect you; they bind your entire bloodline, creating access points for unseen forces to influence, manipulate, or even siphon energy from you and your descendants.

It operates much like a spiritual pyramid scheme: a select few at the top benefit enormously from the devotion, loyalty, and life force of the many. Meanwhile, most members remain unaware of the true spiritual cost of what they’ve agreed to, believing they’ve joined a network, when in fact they’ve entered a system of energetic harvesting.

Part III: The Physical

The external culture reflects the internal reality.

You party, step, and stroll in environments saturated not only with drugs, alcohol, and sex, but with spiritual entities that feed on chaos, confusion, and lowered consciousness. These gatherings aren’t just social, they’re energetic portals. You compete and even feud over letters, chapters, and pledge processes, dividing yourselves under the illusion of unity. The culture often glorifies exclusivity and ego while claiming to stand for service and scholarship.

But beneath the surface, there are darker truths. Physical violence and psychological abuse are commonly part of the initiation process, disguised as “tradition” or “earning your place.”

Sexual assault, against women and men, is disturbingly prevalent at parties and events, sometimes with their knowledge, but often without. And the most troubling part? Many members witness or know of these violations and say nothing. They turn the other cheek to protect the chapter, the legacy, or their own reputation. The silence is loyalty, but it’s loyalty to dysfunction.

And yet, these same organizations often claim to be founded on Christian principles. Principles that preach accountability, compassion, justice, and the sanctity of the human soul.

The truth is that most people don’t join BGLOs to grow closer to The Creator. They join for belonging, for power, for status, for connection, usually before they’ve even had a chance to truly know themselves. That is the real initiation: giving parts of your identity away in pursuit of validation. And for many, that pursuit becomes a spiritual trap masked as community.

The Call

If you truly desire transformation, here is your path:

Heal. Renounce. Detox. Fast

That is your initiation back to the truth.

Cleanse your body.

Cut the substances.

Shift what you consume: food, music, media, conversations.

Guard your mind like sacred ground.

Treat your body as the temple it was always meant to be.

Meditate, not to escape, but to listen.

Return to nature, where divine order still lives.

Read your sacred texts, whatever path you follow.

Let the wisdom speak to your soul.

Face your shadows.

Confront the parts of yourself you’ve hidden, abandoned, or given away.

Find yourself, and you will find The Creator.

This message is not just a call…. It’s a warning, wrapped in love.

For those who remain in these groups after learning the truth, know this:

Spiritual law is always in motion. It applies whether or not you acknowledge it.

To those who choose to break free:

I send you strength. I send you clarity. I send you peace.

To those who aren’t ready:

That is your choice, and choice is a gift you will always carry.

Free will is sacred. Use it wisely.
