Project Overview: The goal of this project was to create a personal brand that reflects who I am and my future goals. I created a style guide that includes my logo, fonts, and color scheme, which created a cohesive visual identity. The project was designed using Adobe Illustrator and Canva while applying brand principles to create something memorable that could be used across digital and print platforms.

Going into this project, I wanted to create a brand that came across as professional while still showing my personality. The challenge was finding the right balance between creativity and professionalism so that my style guide would stand out but also not be too complicated.

The Problem:

In today’s demanding job market, job-seekers need more than just a resume; they need to stand out with elements like a personal brand. A strong visual identity helps communicate personality and professional goals while creating consistency across portfolio, social media, and other platforms.

The challenge was creating a brand that reflected both my creative style and my long-term career goals while still being usable across several platforms and applications.

The Solution:

I first started by getting inspiration from other individuals’ branding and looking through visual styles that reflected my design preferences and personality. I sketched multiple logos and experimented with different color schemes and typography before deciding on my final choices. Drawing inspiration from several ideas allowed me to choose what best represented my personality and long-term goals.

I chose a cherry-inspired theme because I felt that, with this theme, I could make it feel playful and unique while also being professional. I focused on designing a simple logo that could scale at different sizes and across multiple applications.

I created my logo in Adobe Illustrator using shapes and typography to make a versatile design. I chose a color palette that conveys creativity while still having a strong visual consistency throughout my style guide. I also chose typography that is easy to read but also has personality, making sure it could be used across both digital and print materials.

Throughout this design process, I made decisions to ensure everything was cohesive with my personal and professional goals. I made sure my logo, color palette, and typography worked together as an integrated unit, which reinforced the importance of decision-making when creating a professional visual identity.

Results:

My final style guide forms an integrated personal brand that shows both my creative style and my career goals in digital marketing and branding. Through this project, I improved my understanding of style guides, logo development, typography, color theory, and visual consistency, while improving my skills in Adobe Illustrator.

One of the biggest lessons I learned was that successful branding is built through intentional design decisions. If I continue developing my brand, I want to create business cards, social media templates, stickers, and other branded marketing elements to maintain a consistent professional identity.
