How We Read A Book
A literary cat story
I typically read two books at once. The one I read at night is on my bedside table; the other is on the sofa in the living room.
I have to pick up a book, read the words, turn the pages, and hope I remember what I just ingested.
My cats, on the other hand, read by absorption. No tired eyes, no dog-eared pages, no problems with recall. They yawn, stretch out, and go to sleep. While they catnap, the stories are consumed.
