Life vs. Me — Round #6: Reality Edition

A conversation where excuses don’t survive.

Sometimes I have conversations with life. Well… more like monologues, to be honest.

Here are some of them. If they make you laugh, great. If they make you reflect, even better… then they have served their purpose.

Enjoy.

Me: I want to be healthier. Life: Not as much as you want comfort.

Me: I want a better life. Life: Then why are your habits protecting the current one?

Me: Nobody LISTENS to me. Life: You spend more time TALKING than UNDERSTANDING.

Me: I can’t find the right partner. Life: You keep rejecting the lessons before the partner.

Me: I don’t know what I want. Life: Then why do you know exactly what you don’t want?

Me: I am afraid of failing. Life: You’re mostly afraid of being seen failing.

Me: I don’t have enough money. Life: You spend more time consuming than creating.

Me: I wish things were different. Life: So does every person avoiding a decision.

Me: I am stuck. Life: You know the next step. You just dislike it.

Me: Life isn’t giving me what I deserve. Life: Life responds to actions, not deserving.

Me: I don’t know why this keeps happening. Life: Because you’ve changed the situation, not the pattern.

Me: I want a different result. Life: Then stop protecting the behavior that creates the current one.

Me: I wish people would change. Life: That’s often easier than changing yourself.

Me: I don’t deserve this. Life: Reality has never used deserving as a decision criterion.

Me: I want to be successful. Life: More than you want to be comfortable?

Me: I keep ending up in the same place. Life: Because you keep leaving from the same person.

Me: I want deeper relationships. Life: Then stop having shallow conversations.

Me: I want more freedom. Life: Then accept more responsibility.

Me: I wish I had started earlier. Life: You said the same thing last year.

Me: I keep waiting for a sign. Life: You already received the assignment.

Me: Why is life so hard? Life: Compared to what?

My favorite is:

Me: I keep ending up in the same place. Life: Because you keep leaving from the same person.

My daughter didn’t get the point at first. So I created a few variations to explain it. Now she gets it. And you?

Version 1 (the “ouch” version)

Me: I want a different outcome. Life: Then become a different input.

Version 2 (very deep)

Me: Why does the same lesson keep returning? Life: Because you keep returning as the same student.

Version 3 (mathematical wisdom)

Me: I want different results. Life: Then stop expecting a new equation to emerge from the same variables.

Version 4 (Book-worthy)

Me: I want a different future. Life: Then become someone your future can happen to.

That last one carries a profound shift:

Most people think they need a different future.

Life keeps asking for a different self.

If this resonated with you, feel free to share it with someone who might need a moment of clarity today. And if you’d like to see more reflections like this, a few claps (0–50) help me understand what speaks to you.
