Breathing Room

New vision with new framed eyes. Washed clean by all the tears I’ve cried. Like a kid in a candy store Looking left, right, far, high and wide. Letting out the me — that’s been buried inside. Be it pride Made me want to hide Sick of living a lie The old me had to die.

Saving grace Wrapped my body in lace. Done an aboutface Now that I’m in this place. Thought it was a race. Heels dug in maintaining the haste. Breath of fresh air Wings expanding with all this new space.

Meant to be or shown to me. It’s gonna take a while to feel truly free. No matter what I’ve seen All the places I’ve been. This place feels more like home. Moreso than I’ve ever known. And with all the birds that have flown. I can see how much I have grown. And it means the world to me.

All alone but feel accepted. Different but no need to be messed with. After all I’ve been tested Forgiven my regrets list. Sensing some inhered rememberance. Peering through these lenses.
