Cleveland Indians pitcher Corey Kluber makes history, tops mark set by Bob Feller in 1939

COREY KLUBER posted a second consecutive dominant 8.0-inning start, allowing just one run on five hits with 10 strikeouts in Tuesday’s loss to the Padres.

The start marked his 31st career start with double-digit strikeouts, as well as his fifth in a row

Suffered his first career loss in a start with 10+ strikeouts & is now 18–1 with a 1.44 ERA (38ER/237.0IP) in those starts.

Kluber is now 1–1 in two career starts against San Diego with a 2.57 ERA (4ER/14.0IP).

Since returning from the Disabled List on June 1, Kluber is 4–1 with a 1.24 ERA (7ER/51.0IP).

Kluber struck out 10-or-more batters for his fifth consecutive start, setting a new franchise record.

Kluber is one of three pitchers in MLB this season (Chris Sale & Max Scherzer) to record a 10+K streak of at least five starts.

Additionally, Kluber is now one of just seven right-handed pitchers in the Play Index era to record such a streak, joining Pedro Martinez (6 times), Nolan Ryan (3 times), J.R. Richard, Dwight Gooden, Curt Schilling & Max Scherzer.

Kluber also extended his franchise record to 14 consecutive home starts with at least seven strikeouts (also the longest active streak in MLB).

Kluber’s 10 strikeouts tonight improved his career total to 1,051, moving him out of a tie with Luis Tiant for sole possession of 10th-most career punchouts in Indians franchise history (Mike Garcia is 9th with 1,095 strikeouts).
