When an Umbrella Starts Remembering Its Owner

传世诡物·诡伞

Some traditional Chinese objects naturally carry emotion.

The oil-paper umbrella is one of them.

It is not sharp like a sword, nor precious like jade.

It quietly appears in rain, old streets, and moments of separation.

In many Eastern stories, an umbrella is never just an umbrella.

Recently, I started experimenting with combining traditional Chinese culture with subtle Eastern horror aesthetics.

Not cheap jump scares.

But a quiet feeling — the kind that slowly crawls into your mind.

That’s how The Haunted Umbrella was born.

In Episode 2, Su Wan lifts the umbrella again.

She seems to be smiling.

But seconds later, a tear falls onto the umbrella surface.

At that moment, I realized something:

Perhaps what truly scares people is not ghosts.

But emotions that never disappear.

This series is not only about horror.

I want it to feel like a collection of Eastern strange tales filled with:

  • rain
  • obsession
  • regret
  • silence

and emotions that people cannot let go of.

Perhaps more haunted objects will appear in the future.
