My Trip To Visit All The Gurudwaras.

The Golden Temple/Harmandir Sahib

So recently, my brother and I incentivised our family to visit all the gurudwaras in Punjab. Gurudwaras are holy places in Sikhism where people of any religion can eat, sleep, and live. The first Gurudwaras were established by the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and then they were further continued.

Shri Harmandir Sahib/Golden Temple

The pinnacle of Sikhism is the Gurudwara Harmandir Sahib, which is located in Amritsar the second most developed city in Punjab. The Akaal Takht or the Sikh Court is also situated in the same city. The foundation of Harmandir Sahib was laid by Sain(saint) Mian Mir, and the foundation of the Akaal Takht by the sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind Ji, and the holiest city in all of Sikhism, Amritsar, was established by the fourth Sikh Guru, Guru Ramdas Ji.

Baoli Sahib

So, back to our trip now,–I’ll only tell the interesting parts so you don't get bored along the way– first we went to Baoli Sahib, which was earlier the centre of the Sikh religion, it is the place where 3 Gurus lived and preached. The third Guru, Guru Amar Das Ji, preached there for 33 years, then gave his place to his son-in-law, the fourth Sikh Guru, Guru Ram Das Ji, who then passed his seat down to his son, the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev Ji. Baoli Sahib was the apex of Sikhism before the Construction of Sri Harmandar Sahib, yes, Sri.

Khadur Sahib

Then we went ahead to Khadur Sahib, which under the leadership of the second Sikh Guru, Guru Angad Dev Ji, became the headquarters of the Sikh religion for a whole of 13 years, and was blessed by 8 of the 10 Sikh Gurus.

Khadur Sahib was the birthplace of the Gurmukhi lipi, or the Punjabi language, you could say, and it was refined here too. This Gurudwara also became the first Sikh school ever.

After visiting all these marvelous beauties of the Sikh religion we halted our trip for the time being, because my health decayed, I got the ‘seasonal flu’ the cold, blocked nose, soar throat and all, you know.
