Crescent Lament, compared to other oriental folk metal bands in Taiwan, are masters when it comes to fusing dark symphonic backgrounds with savage metal rhythms and gritty vocals. Their gothic base, boosted by exquisite vocals, compliments the dramatic melodies of the ever present huqin/erhu and, occassionally, other folk instruments such as san xian/shamisen, suona, and pipa.

Though their music is more tame compared to more brutal acts (which places them in the middle ground), their dramatic sound delivers a right amount of aural violence nonetheless.
