62,614 Gazans martyred — Lives but just a number.

1,139 Israelis dead — Hell has arrived.

111,588 Gazans injured — Cries draped in silence.

8,730 Israelis injured — A tragedy!

92% of homes erased — No one looks twice.

They do not care.

They never did. They never will.

Don’t they know that history is simply repeating itself again and again? Some pick up the pieces of their broken homes and thank God for what they have left, while others sit at the edge of their private swimming pools wondering why they do not look like their favorite model.

Some people boycott and protest, and some are simply unaware. While others have a sleeping conscience,or maybe have none at all.

Days run by with news after news.

I’ve stopped looking, you know.

A person can only handle so much.

The graves are overflowing.

People disappearing.

Everyone ignoring.

And the stories show it all. If you can bear to listen till the end.

A story of a boy in a coma, not knowing he has nothing left.

A story of a small girl playing outside her house, which will be gone when the next jet flies by.

A story of a child starving to death.

A story of a mother crying over her childrens’ still hearts.

A story of kids frozen on the streets.

A story of a man beaten and slain.

A story of bullets and blood.

A story of resistance and faith.

A story of children standing in front of the tanks.

A story of families fighting for their homes.

A story of using nothing but stones to rebuild.

A story of arising on broken legs,

And of collecting shattered hearts.

All stories screaming, not to be heard,

but to be engraved in our earth,

To stay.

In every drop of martyr's blood,

and every child’s eye.

In every green olive,

and every speck of dirt.

They stay, and we all see, but the world turns away.
