Ligaya’s Status: Life in Progress

Who I am today is because of the people I am surrounded with and the experiences I have accumulated throughout the years. The skills I have acquired are the result of this program and my passion for Sining.

As someone who is naturally timid, I knew that the moment I enrolled myself in this program, it would be a tough journey. I honestly didn’t know where I truly excelled. I’ve always struggled with major subjects such as math, English, and science which were never my strengths. But I loved Filipino and Araling Panlipunan. For a while, I considered pursuing a program that is related with Filipino because I felt confident with those subjects.

Eventually, I drop that idea. I realized I also excel in Sining at Tanghalan where my heart is truly belonged. That’s why I’m here, holding it together despite feeling a little overwhelmed, because I have faith that I will make it through this journey no matter how difficult it gets.

I’m a person who is driven by my curiosity and it is one of my greatest assets. Because I am the kind of person who is always trying new things, exploring, and wandering, these challenges and experiences have shaped of who am I, today. While I can be indecisive at times, and often postpone things that I once started, and sometimes feel timid around people, I believe that these areas can be a fuel of my strength. Someone once told me that life is like a burnt marshmallow it may seems to be difficult but if you look inside you’ll see the gooey and you’ll eventually love it.

To become the person I envision five years after graduation, I now know what field I need to focus on such as creative writing ,public speaking, increase my confidence, and be consistent. These aren’t just tasks to check off but instead these are part of the version I want to become, someone who is confident, skilled, and empowered.

My vision for the future is not only about a job. I dream of a life where I can go enjoy my time and the things that bring me fulfillment, whether that be as a news reporter, journalist, or a creative behind the production.

I kept telling myself to enjoy the journey because I know that growth is a step by step process that takes time to complete. It’s fine even if my goals doesn’t go with my plan. My goals and plans are dependent base on my current status and situation as long as I keep moving forward, learning, then I’m growing.
