5 Uncomfortable Signs You Carry a Very Heavy Calling

Many people misinterpret these signs as a problem, and that’s true

Some people feel called to do something, and they don’t even know why. They wake up with a strong inner knowing that moves them to serve, lead, heal, and change lives.

But that calling can be heavy, you see?

It weighs heavily.

Roads get harder because of the calling. Feelings run deeper because of who you are, and relationships are just tricky to get into, to stay in, and to manage.

But love is the greatest of them all.

If you recognize any of the signs below, you may be carrying a heavy calling.

I send you my love and support because none of this is easy.

1. Relationships Are Tricky to Manage

One day they’re there, and the next they’re gone from your life. They drift apart not because of any conflict or disagreement, but because of distance.

One day, they’re just gone.

Or they’re moved out of your life.

A person who carries a heavy calling does not get to choose who they will be with.

Their circle is constantly filtered to protect the calling.

If it is not aligned with your purpose, it is removed before it can corrupt or delay the process.

Many will reject you too, and it’s a mistake to assume something is wrong with you. What seems like rejection often leads you back to where you are truly meant to be.

You won't be alone, but it may take some time because you are being positioned for a Kingdom relationship.

Great things take time, you know?

When the stars align and the time and season are just right, you’ll see your person appear on your path.

Just like that.

They’ll appear before you, and you’ll know them instantly. They’ll know you, too, and they’ll protect and support you in the weight of the calling.

2. Your Blood Boils When God is Dishonored

You don’t care that people don’t know or love God. You do, and you do. You’ve had a personal experience with God, and that is enough.

You allow people to believe whatever they want, but it disturbs you when they dishonor God — a God they claim is not real. When they disrespect the name of God or the name of your faith, it makes your blood boil.

You defend the name of God as you would defend the name of a beloved mother. You defend it as you would your own name because your identity is rooted in God.

God is who you are.

You know people have been dishonoring the name of God since the beginning; you just find ways to deal with it. You stay away from godless souls and remain in your solitude, where no folly or negativity can reach you.

3. You Have an Unusual Hunger

You want more.

You know there is more to life than meets the eye, and you want to find it. So you seek, and you find, and you realize you want even more.

You want more of the Divine.

So you feed your soul as you feed your body.

The shallow spiritual practices of the New Age and the clueless church activities do not satisfy you. You want more, so you go deep. A deep calling needs constant refueling.

The hunger you feel for that which is much bigger than yourself is a good thing. It’s a sign you’re being prepared for greatness.

4. You See a Solution Where They See a Problem

People pray for God to make them great, but when God presents a problem that, if solved, would make them great, they pray for God to take it away.

Do you know what happens when a gift meets a problem?

Greatness!

Every problem is an opportunity to be great.

God created the world for man, but not a chair for him to sit on. He left room for man to solve some of his own problems so that man would be called great. He put the chair in the tree from which the man now sits comfortably.

In a crisis or moment of confusion, when others see a dead end, a person with a heavy calling often stays composed while thinking of solutions.

The calling gives you a different eye. Not the eyes that look at the problems, but the one that looks at a new perspective — a spiritual or strategic lens that helps you interpret situations and find solutions.

A person with a calling may be heavily burdened, but they are great, and for that, they are blessed abundantly.

But to whom much is given…

5. You Face More Resistance Than Others

Imagine working hard to help people solve their problems, while the spiritual forces of darkness work even harder to stop you.

Life seems harder when you have a heavy calling on you.

Mountains appear on your path out of nowhere, and you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, day after day.

You carry burdens others don’t seem to share. Doors that should open refuse to budge. Obstacles and opposition abound.

You compare and think, “Why is life so much harder for me?”

The truth is, the more influence and impact you’re meant to have in this world, the more opposition you’ll face from all angles and the more resistance you’ll encounter.

Don’t be intimidated by the troubles you face. You are doing good work, and no evil can come near you.

Fear nothing but the spirit of fear.

Do not entertain fearful thoughts about your life.

Forget who is against you and focus on the work you’re called to do. You’re called to do more work, carry more burdens, and become more fully who you are so others can be served by your fruit.

Final Revelation

The head of the one who is called to do something they don't fully understand is heavy. It can feel like a curse when the hand of God rests on you, but it's not.

It's a blessing.

You are called to endure a bit of darkness so you can grow deep roots that can bear good fruit for those you meet along the way.

Your actions and presence profoundly affect those around you. Your gifts and experiences offer hope, encouragement, and support to others in their darkest moments.

When you face trials of many kinds, do not be discouraged.

Many people misinterpret these signs as a problem, and that's true. But remember: Wherever there are many problems, there are abundant opportunities to be great.

If you can relate to these signs, take heart.

The challenges you face are not meant to break you but to strengthen you into the version of you that conquers the opposition, boldly serves your gifts to the world, and fulfills the purpose assigned to you.
