Jesus accepts you

You are never too far away

I was running away from the lord because I was angry that he didn’t accept me the way I was. I was running away as I was ashamed of my addiction, I was hurt that I was still spiralling down from the same mental health problems for the past 6 years but one day I spoke to him, I cried and I told him I was angry and hurt.

Now I wish I could tell you that the roof split open and Jesus spoke to me through a bright light but ofcourse that didn’t happen. What did happen, however, was that I felt this overwhelming peace, this feeling that my tears and pain weren’t wasted they were acknowledged and he was listening.

Sometimes you won’t feel anything trust that your tears are not wasted when it is taken to the lord, for he has caught each of our tears and holds them, he works all situations for our good.

Jesus accepted me just the way I am. How do I know this? The overwhelming peace, the fact that even when everything is wrong I always have a way out and way to something better. A small opening in the window from which he pulls me out of everything wrong and gives me freedom.

I am still addicted to nicotine, and though it’s not better I am no longer wallowing in that hole lifting praises because even in that hole my lord is with me holding my health intact, holding my sanity intact.

Even when I spiral with mental health issues I see the silver lining of having a place to rest my head and looking forward to the blessings he has for Tommorow.

To all the people out there who feel unaccepted, Jesus is calling you today, he wants you to know he accepts you and he loves you.
