Mithraeum Chronicles Tournament on Arbitrum
Welcome back, friends!
It’s been so long since our last grand tournament, and now it’s finally time for the Mithraeum Chronicles to kick off on the Arbitrum Network. I can barely contain my excitement, so much so that I’ve decided to keep a diary. I can already feel the magnitude of the events to come, with legendary moments and intense battles awaiting us.
This tournament will be very special, as the Mithraeum team introduced a grant program, allowing single players, guilds, and communities to enter for free. This is a fantastic opportunity, giving new players the chance to discover the game and participate in such an intense and lively tournament. It’s a gesture that deserves appreciation, as it opens the door for so many to experience the thrill of competition on a grand stage.
The rewards this time are extraordinary:
- The prize pool starts at 4.5 ETH, and it will continue to grow as more tokens are purchased from the market.
- A staggering 2,500,000 MMG is also up for grabs.
Now let’s dive into an overview of Day 3 of the tournament and gain some insights into the current situation…

When we take a look at the regions, the average number of settlements is 14 per region, but each region is unique, especially when it comes to the cultist penalty:
- 0% for Region I (Melody Meadow)
- 15% for Region II (Boccatopia, Starry Hill)
- 30% for Region III (Dead Land, Demi Yonder, Delusion Realms)
- 45% for Region IV (Braseovell)
This penalty is crucial because it affects resource production. When investing, a percentage of resources will be burned based on the penalty. For instance, in Region III, where the penalty is 30%, investing 10 food to produce 10 wood will only yield 7 wood as the penalty burns 30% of the resources. In addition, the penalty slows the production of all structures, making it a key factor in deciding where to settle.

Now, let’s take a look at the analytics of settlements bought during the first 24 hours of the tournament.
Region I (Melody Meadow):
- Number of settlements: 3
- Average price: 132,584.26 BLESS-A
Region II (Boccatopia & Starry Hill):
- Number of settlements: 5
- Average price: 64,825.15 BLESS-A
Region III (Delusion Realms, Demi Yonder, Dead Land):
- Number of settlements: 6
- Average price: 28,357.43 BLESS-A
Looking at the current prices of settlements:
- MELODY MEADOW: 654k BLESS-A
- BOCCATOPIA: 479k BLESS-A
- STARRY HILL: 493k BLESS-A
- DELUSION REALMS: 276k BLESS-A
- DEMI YONDER: 495k BLESS-A
- DEAD LAND: 269k BLESS-A
- BRASEOVELL: 214k BLESS-A
We can see that the top regions are more expensive, which is expected. But what’s even more striking is the sharp increase in settlement prices when comparing Day 1 to Day 3. With the pace picking up fast, anticipation was growing as players settled in and prepared for what was to come.
Day 5 arrived with the tournament kicking into high gear! The first quest was announced — 250 building upgrades. It was the perfect challenge to start things off, designed to extend the world’s longevity by encouraging players to focus on scaling their settlements rather than jumping straight into combat. Although the quest was supposed to last three days, it surprised everyone by being completed in just 22 hours! The atmosphere was calm, giving all players the chance to participate without feeling rushed.
After the First Week:
- Players established 5 new zones
- 175 settlements were placed
- 25 million BLESS-A tokens were spent
- The first quest was successfully completed
But just as players were catching their breath, Day 10 rolled in with a brand new quest — 20,000 leaderboard points in exchange for 7,500 prosperity. This time, things escalated quickly. The quest, expected to last a bit longer, was completed in a shocking 38 minutes! This left many players frustrated as they couldn’t participate in time to grab a share of the leaderboard points.
In response to the outcry, the Mithraeum team stepped up 24 hours later with a fresh challenge: 50,000 points for 30k prosperity. This one, however, has been a whole different beast. We’re now three days in, and the quest is proving to be far tougher than anyone anticipated. Will the players be able to pull off a miracle and complete it before the clock runs out? Only time will tell, and the tension is rising by the hour!

Day 14: The tension is mounting as the next phase of the tournament is about to begin. With a real possibility that the current quest may remain incomplete, players across the map are gearing up for battle.

With 15 regions and over 300 settlements in play, strong players and powerful guilds are preparing to take down as many enemies as possible, aiming to climb the leaderboard and secure a larger share of the prize pool. This is where alliances truly matter — being part of a guild or community gives players a massive advantage in the competition.

To help new players get involved, the Mithraeum Discord has introduced an embassies thread. Here, players can apply to join one of the established guilds and fight alongside a team, rather than going solo. It’s a smart move for those looking to increase their chances of survival — and victory — in this increasingly intense tournament!

After almost two weeks into the tournament, there are now 45.2k cultists spread across the 15 regions. It’s only a matter of time before the number reaches 75k, which would trigger the end of the world, wiping out corrupted settlements and resetting all others.

But is the end of the world truly inevitable? The cultist count only rises significantly when large amounts of resources are harvested. Hiring armies, for instance, decreases the overall toxicity levels, helping to manage the cultist threat. Given the current quest lineup, unless a resource collection quest is announced, it might take much longer for the cultists to reach their tipping point. Players are more focused on fighting, vying to eliminate one another and secure more leaderboard points. So, for now, the battle for survival takes precedence, and we’ll have to wait and see how things unfold in the coming weeks!
It’s Day 21 now, and things have been so intense over the past week that I didn’t even have time to write in my diary! As predicted, the last prosperity quest wasn’t completed — 30k was just too massive a number to hit.

A few days ago, two new quests were announced, and every player has been pushing hard, trying to contribute as much as possible to secure those sweet rewards.

The first quest was all about burning 150,000 food, and this one was a breeze. Players had stockpiled so much food already that it was wrapped up in less than a day!

As for the second quest, it’s only been a day, and we’ve already hit 18%. With more players contributing their progress in the following days, albeit not as frequently, it’s bound to pick up speed.

Other than that, last week saw several battles, especially in the Tier 4 regions. These battles ended quickly, as the strong guilds overwhelmed their enemies with superior numbers, giving them no chance to fight back or make the battles long or difficult.

Afterward, those same guilds turned their remaining armies toward Tier 3 regions, directing their forces to battle the cultists.

And that pretty much wraps up Week 3! 😄
WEEK 4
At the start of Week 4, two new quests were announced: Upgrade Smithy 900 times, with a 4-day deadline, and Burn 35,000 Ingots, with 6 days to complete. Since these quests were interconnected, it created a bit of a dilemma. Burning ingots would likely lead to increased toxicity, inviting even more cultists into the zones. Meanwhile, upgrading the smithy would have the opposite effect, helping to keep cultist numbers at bay.

It was honestly a moment of hesitation that threw us off. Unsure of where to focus, we lost momentum, and before we knew it, the Smithy Upgrade quest was completed by other players. We were left scrambling, still deciding which path to take, and, unfortunately, our contribution to both quests ended up weaker than we had hoped.
As Week 4 drew to a close, another quest was unveiled: a collective goal to complete 1,500 fort upgrades — or risk failing the quest altogether. Realizing this was our chance to regain lost points and make up for our previous setback, we rallied, eager to prove ourselves. Yet, the lingering effects of lost momentum weighed on us. Despite our best efforts, it felt as though we were still a step behind. We gave it everything we had, but in the end, I couldn’t shake the feeling that our contribution fell short.

And so, the Final Quest of the Tournament was announced — a final push before we can finally take a well-deserved break!

Reaching the tournament’s finish line feels like a relief, and a renewed sense of camaraderie fills the air. Together with our allies, we’re giving it our all, determined to conquer this last hurdle. The end is in sight, and everyone is laser-focused on securing a victorious conclusion!

And just like that, the last quest of this tournament was completed in about two days! It’s time for us to take a well-deserved break and recharge as we prepare for the big upcoming tournament. After the intensity of these past weeks, we can finally relax and reflect on our hard-earned victories. Here’s to the next adventure ahead!

Now, the Mithraeum team will take a leaderboard snapshot to finalize the results. It will take a few days to distribute the rewards, and we eagerly await the outcome of our efforts. Let’s hope all our hard work pays off as we look forward to celebrating our achievements!
Final Thoughts
The tournament’s duration of around one month is ideal; any longer might detract from the excitement.
This new rewards system with quests has significantly changed the gameplay style. Previously, the focus was primarily on farming weapons and exchanging them for rewards. Now, with a diverse range of quests, even solo players and beginners have a chance to contribute and earn rewards. This inclusivity is pretty cool, making the game more engaging for everyone!
I believe there were too many zones. While creating more zones might allow new players to join at different stages of the game, I’m not entirely sure that’s the case. Comparing it to previous tournaments, it feels like fewer zones might be better, but I can’t say for certain.
Additionally, quest announcements sometimes start in just 4 or 6 hours, which can be challenging for players in different time zones. Having a specific time for quest announcements could be more convenient for everyone.
It would also be beneficial to launch 2 to 3 quests simultaneously, with a restriction that a settlement can participate in only one of the current quests. This way, players can focus their efforts more effectively and strategically!
There’s so much to learn from every single tournament, which is why it’s crucial to participate and not miss any test events. Each experience offers valuable insights and opportunities for improvement, helping us become better players. We can’t wait to apply what we’ve learned and correct our mistakes in the next big tournament!
A huge thank you to all the players from different guilds who joined us on this journey and a special shoutout to our allies who stood by us with unwavering support. A heartfelt thanks as well to the game team for making this experience possible. Best of luck to everyone in the next big tournament! And to each of you who took the time to read this article — thank you! 😊
