Spoiler alert: Some backs deserve to be stabbed

Hi, I am Ryan Walker…

I am the protagonist in Head Lion, although I know at least seven more people in the book will disagree. I don’t care about them, who the protagonist is, or what anyone thinks about me. I don’t care about anything. The only thing that matters to me now is my recent past. My distant past is checkered. Just to give you a hint, I’m an Irish with black hair, olive skin, and a back patterned with old scars, metaphorically speaking. That’s how much fucked my history is. I don’t like talking about it, and I know you are not interested in it. How do I know that? Reading minds is what I am famous for, and I’m great at it. I can tell you right now that you don’t believe me. You know me as the one who lies for a living. The pompous creative director at one of America’s top Ad. agencies. The one who thinks he is the greatest ad. man the world has ever seen, but you already knew that, right? The one thing you don’t know is that you and I have a lot in common. Did you just shake your head in disagreement? Well, let’s just say we both agree that some backs deserve to be stabbed. Don’t we?
