Remembering the best action movies of 2010

Action films are usually fairly prominent among big-budget Hollywood films during a year. As such, 2010 had a few blockbuster action films, and some were actually quite good too! These are a few of the best action movies of 2010.

Predators

In 1987, Predator was released, starring Schwarzenegger in a science-fiction action film in which his elite commando team battled it out against an extra-terrestrial predator. This movie was one of the blockbuster action films of its era, and has since been followed by a few sequels.

Step in Predators, which is the 2010 addition to the Predator franchise. Overall, Predators has proved to be a good addition to the franchise with some gripping action scenes. Although Predators may not be a potential film of the year, so far as action films go, it was one of the better ones in 2010.

Iron Man 2

Iron Man returns in this Iron Man 2 sequel. The movie had a action-packed plot, and was a worthy sequel to the original Iron Man film. In terms of box office impact, Iron Man 2 was also one of the top action films of 2010.

Edge of Darkness

Edge of Darkness, Gibson’s first film since 2002, has been another of the better action films of 2010. Edge of Darkness is a film based on the 1985 BBC TV series of the same name, following detective Craven’s investigation surrounding the death of his daughter, and ultimately uncovering grander conspiracies and cover-ups. Overall, this movie is a solid action-packed conspiracy thriller. Although not have an especially big box office impact, Edge of Darkness was still one of the better action films of the year.

Salt

Salt is a spy thriller starring Angelina Jolie, a CIA agent mistakenly believed to be a spy. Although not have the most realistic of plots, Salt has plenty of great stunt work, with some great action sequences. Overall, Salt is an exciting espionage thriller that proved to be one of 2010’s best action films.

Inception

Inception was one of 2010’s big-budget blockbuster films starring DiCaprio as a corporate espionage thief, and many consider it not just the best action film, but one of the top movies of 2019. The film’s originality and innovative story impressed many, along with some of its great action scenes. As such, Inception has been one of the biggest blockbuster films of the year, along with the likes of Toy Story 3.

So, these have been a few of the best action films of 2010. Admittedly, it was not a vintage year for the action genre, but films such as Inception, Predators, Salt, Edge of Darkness, and Iron Man 2 have provided some good action movies.
