The Legends were never strangers to chaos. Immortal savages, demons, aliens, time aberrations, encores, their own robot-doppelgängers — chaos was practically their brand. Still, nothing in their wild history compared to the mess they found themselves in after trying to save Alun and Gwyn: handcuffed by Time Police, futures uncertain, and Sara Lance quietly carrying the biggest secret of her life.

She was pregnant.

It was almost funny. The woman who had died more times than anyone could count, who had led armies, defied gods, and rewritten destiny itself — terrified at the thought of becoming a mom. Only Gary had figured it out (because of course Gary was an alien too). Sara had promised herself: one last mission, and then she’d tell Ava and the others.

But one last mission turned out to be Gwyn’s tragedy. He had gone back to WWI to save Alun, replacing him with a robot duplicate, only to discover that his own death was a fixed point. The Legends couldn’t let him die that way. Zari — stubborn and brilliant as ever — had swiped a time courier, giving them a chance to save him.

Sara tried to bury her fear under orders and plans, but eventually, her composure cracked. In a raw, trembling moment, she blurted it to Ava:

“I’m pregnant. And it’s yours, Ava. The child… it’s ours.”

The words seemed to freeze the air between them. Sara rambled, voice breaking as she admitted she was scared — scared of being a mother, scared of failing their child, scared because they were stranded in history with danger all around. But Ava, steady as she could, cupped Sara’s face and anchored her with quiet strength.

“My love, you’ve led us through impossible storms,” Ava said, her voice firm but soft. “You’ve carried the weight of the world when no one else could. And now you’re scared because this means everything. That’s what makes you ready. That’s what makes you the mom our child deserves. And we’re going to be the raddest of moms — together.”

Sara laughed through tears, clinging to her wife as the war around them faded for just a moment. And then, as always, the Legends did what they did best — they found a way out. Ray Palmer — once a Legend, always a Legend — had asked Nora to keep an eye on the team with her magic, and when she sensed they were trapped, he couldn’t stay away. With Nora’s help, Gideon quietly overloaded the holding cells. Booster Gold, ever the showman, distracted the guards with endless bragging. And in the middle of it all, Sara steadied the team like only she could. Martin Stein had once called her “the steady hand in a storm,” and this time, the storm wasn’t just the mission — it was the future of the family she was fighting for.

By the end, even Rip Hunter — alive again in this restarted universe, and now leading the Time Police — released them after realizing who they were. Over drinks, he reminisced about the old days, memories intact (thanks to J’onn J’onzz). For the first time in a long time, the Legends weren’t plotting their next mission. They were letting go.

They promised to meet again in the pocket dimension — not as time’s warriors, but as friends, family, and survivors. Because after years of fighting for everyone else’s future, it was time for the Legends to think about their own.

And for Sara and Ava, that meant quieter futures — not without grief or struggle, but with love, hope, and the promise of a family that would outlast any timeline. Sara teased through another tearful laugh that they really would be the raddest of moms. Ava kissed her, smiling through her own tears — a reformed assassin and a former director of the time bureau, two strong and amazing women, finally daring to dream of something gentler.

Because in the end, a Legend never truly retires — they just find new futures worth fighting for.
