Why Roads are Important
On the Way to Light

I heard that there are 3 aspects to Enlightenment, but some people stop at 2.
The first is Go Fast. The second means Remember to Balance. The third is Just Listen.
Some think listening is not necessary, but I find listening to be the best one.
Then you can hear the wind whistling past your wheels.
And remember, if you also listen, then even the road starts to sing songs to you. I don’t even care if they’re heavy metal, as long as the road dust gets left behind.

You may have caught the allusion: The famous Zen saying that the mind is a perfect mirror, only it’s covered with dust.
Perhaps those Zen guys don’t go riding. Out in the desert. Perhaps.

I’d like to say that the mind is a perfect motorcycle and who cares about the dust anyway?
Forward.
Actually, and this might be the most interesting thing you’ll hear all week, but, everyone has heard that you can’t go faster than light, but you may not know you also can’t go slower.
WTF?
You can play around with Einstein’s not so complex equations from Special Relativity, the 1905 stuff, to show that it’s mathematically possible to go faster than light. You just can never quite slow down to light speed.
How odd.
Faster than light particles are called tachyons. There’s always been a bit of a split among physicists on this stuff. One camp says it’s just a mathematical thing, and the world of tachyons doesn’t actually exist.
Others say, well, Einstein’s math hasn’t failed us yet.
Oh boy.
More specifically, either way, slower or faster than light, it’s what mathematicians call asymptotic, ie, you can get closer and closer to light, but never quite touch it.
Sorry, I really do have to include this -

OK, MC Hammer Guide to Enlightenment, but why not?
Wow Wow Wow — OK, but if you can’t touch it, then why do they call it Enlightenment? When you become Light.
Interesting stuff.
I still don’t know.
But if time runs forward here, perhaps in the superluminal world (faster than light) it runs the other way.

Perhaps.

You may also know that photons, particles of light, really do live in the eternal now. Time stops if you’re a photon.
Can’t touch this. Asymptotic from either side.
But, it’s not so simple.
Matter can’t touch it, but massless photons just find themselves automatically there.

Maybe it’s the flowers.
Or maybe

Well, if you meet these guys, best of luck.
Why worry about stopping time? You already know how to go forward. What if you also knew how to go backwards?
What if you could just step on the gas?

Addendum on Einstein & Special Relativity:
Throughout the 1890s, every decent physicist in the world was trying to make sense of the Michelson-Morley experiment in 1887, which showed beyond any doubt that the speed of light is invariant. If you shine a flashlight forward from a speeding car/train/jet aircraft, etc., and then shine that same flashlight in the receding direction, the speed of the light beam is the same.
Einstein, in 1905, solved the conundrum by using something called the Lorentz transformations to show that time and space are not invariable, but actually shift around relative to each other depending on the speed of the object relative to the observer. The 4 pieces, though, 3 dimensions of space and one of time, are invariant. It’s called the Interval. It’s invariant. The pieces just shift.
Anything with mass can’t get up to the speed of light because that mass would become infinite (divided by zero). However… on the other side of light, all the elements in the Lorentz transformations become Imaginary Numbers (square root of negative one). Imaginary Numbers absolutely exist. We use them to calculate a zillion things in physics and in your electronic devices all the time.
So you tell me.
When I discuss what the hell the phenomenon of Enlightenment actually is, I don’t approach it from some vague concept of “consciousness,” or (how boring) calming ones idiotic thoughts. To me the whole thing has to be real, ie, physics, learning to directly perceive subtle shit. That’s why I call what I do Energy Meditation. It really derives from a very long history of actual tantric and “energy body” explorations, but now saying “Uh duh, if there’s something real here, then it has to be real in scientific, ie, physics terms.”
It’s been fun!
So the faster than light world, not prohibited by my friend Albert.
An Imaginary Interval. WTF is time there? Can you feel it?
That’s how you balance on motorcycles.
