The Joke We Only Get “Later”
There are moments in life when we sit in silence, staring at the ceiling or the sky, wondering if God is even listening.
We pray for something — desperately, sincerely, with all the faith we can gather in our trembling hands.
And sometimes, what we get instead feels like a cosmic joke.
Not the answer we asked for.
Not even close.
We wanted peace, but chaos showed up.
We asked for love, and heartbreak arrived.
We begged for a door to open, only to watch it slam shut right in front of us.
And in those moments, it’s easy to believe that God isn’t there.
Or worse, that He is — and He’s laughing.
But time passes. Wounds heal.

And somehow, life pieces itself back together — not in the way we imagined, but in ways that make us stop and say, “Ah… now I get it.”
Because the love we thought we lost made space for a better one.
The job we didn’t get led us to something far more meaningful.
The heartbreak became the beginning of self-love we never knew we needed.
And then, suddenly, it all makes sense.
Every unanswered prayer.
Every painful detour.
Every “no” that felt like rejection was just redirection.
Turns out, God does have a sense of humor — one so deep and divine that none of His creatures could ever understand the punchline until it’s delivered.
