Liana

I didn’t have a TV as a child, and I wanted to watch cartoons and TV shows like Tarzan, which you all know.

I used to go to the neighbors who had TVs so I could watch them too often. Some would welcome me to cook, but there were a few, clever ones, who would help me with their chores, otherwise, we would do almost all the work on our own, and then we could watch TV.

I liked the movie with Tarzan, because I somehow found myself in that character, somewhere isolated, trying to survive and protect my loved ones. We also had some vines, in a neighbor’s garden, where there was a small water source in a canal. The vines were higher, on a small hill, and together with 2 neighbors we decided to climb the liana after the hill and try to cross the area with water, the distance was about 10 merits.

It was said, but since the other 2 were afraid, I was the first “Tarzan”. I grabbed the liana and took out the character’s specific shout, but when I was just above the water channel, the liana broke and fell into the water full of the shore. The other 2 neighbors were laughing, I was laughing too, but I was a little embarrassed because my stunt didn’t work out.

I went home quickly to change and I was careful not to be noticed by my father, as he would have tried to fill me with mud.
