CJA Product Usage — Then and Now

Release: October 23, 2025 Feature: Adobe Product Usage Overview

The new Product Usage feature in Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) tracks how users interact with Analysis Workspace and automatically creates a read‑only schema, dataset, connection, and data view in Adobe Experience Platform.

Setup is rapid, giving immediate visibility into how teams explore, save, and share projects — no manual steps required.

This release is a modern, seamless way to understand platform engagement.

Back in the Day — Pivot AA .csv logs

Before these built‑in insights, I’d manually download Adobe Analytics logs as CSV files and pivot them in Excel to identify the top 5–10 power users, eg who has been logging in in the last 90 days? Who was the internal population?

Those names guided my early meet‑and‑greets, surfaced pain points (implemention quality , why-arnt-we-using-Google-analytics etc) , and shaped the Business Requirements BRD (things-I-would-really-like-to-know).

It was a quick, practical way to learn who truly used the data.

Occasionally, I’d find a hardworking, hyper‑connected maven — someone deeply involved in reporting and analysis but often unnoticed within the wider business. Discovering that person was always a highlight.

Over time, others automated and expanded on this idea:

Even with new tools, the goal has never changed: see who’s using the platform, what they value, and how to make it better.

A Modern Approach

Now, with CJA Product Usage reports, the process is built‑in, effortless.

Enable the feature, and within minutes you’ll see who’s most active, which projects are popular, and where collaboration is happening.

It’s an easy way to spot your internal champions — those unsung mavens.

The sandbox selectio dialog confused me initially, this will be the repository where all your CJA Usage data lives. You only need to create one.

Dataviews

Dataviews

I erroneously created 5 dataviews for 5 sandboxes , but this isnt necessary and is overkill. One usage project sufficient:

A bunch of new dimensions appear, in a familiar interface.

You can even enable AI assistant and ask it in plain language:

They seem to like Dimensons but dont use calculated metrics much.

It thows up an internal queryable table:

I’m sure you get it by now…

You might like to take a moment to contemplate the two screens above ;)

Enjoy.
