One of the Most Easist English Test that boost your Australia Immigration Point

This one adds 5 points to the EOI for skill independent visa. Not much if you compare to others criteria such as IELS or Working experience.

I am talking about Credentialed Community Language test (CCL) by NAATI.

I think this is the most easiest yet the most expensive test I’ve ever done before.

It costs $814 AUD and you only need to interpret two conversation that contain English speaker and your native language speaker.

What is CCL?

Each dialogue contain various topics, such as updating insurance, requesting support from community centre, seeking medical help from GP.

The theme are covered with business, social, health, legal and more.

Each converstion has approximately 14 sentences, you will hear each speech separately, hence, you need to speak aloud into the build-in microphone to translate what you have heard into the other one.

You are only required to answer two conversations, within 20 minutes only.

You can even do this online in your own bedroom.

How I prepare the test

Despite I saied this is the easy one, some people still fail.

Fully preparation and constant practice are essential for those valuable points!

Choose practice material.

In my mother language, I am lucky that there is a specific website with AI integrated system that contain over hundreds of topics to play.

You can even try to translate each sentence you found in Youtube video.

Practice daily as minimal as you can.

It is hard to stick to the study plan if you are still working or studying with major subjects.

Then try to practice only one conversation per day, and that is enough.

In addition to maintaining your listening, speaking, translation skill. You should also discover and translate new vocabulary as the least possible effort as you can, rather than procrastinate and make no progress.

Which I took three months after all.

Seeking feedbacks and self-reflection

There are three methods I used for feedbacks seeking.

1. A friend who is a professional interpreter.
2. An offical practice exam by NAATI.

For self-reflection, I analysis what went wrong and how did it went wrong during my practice. What mistakes I made? How is the pattern of making that mistakes? Is it a consequence that owing to lacking of vocabulary?

This mindset of reflection are well-known as the Kolb’s cycle, which improved my self-awareness trememdously, finding solutions objectively, as well as fostering overall performance effectively.

You don’t need to be perfect on translate each words perfectly.

I always tried to convert the conversation in the same meaning as much as I can.

In addition to increase my score, I also keep my speaking in the most natural and fluent in both language.

Imagine that we want to solve the problem for the foreign and English speaker, and we are in the real conversation.
