Soul Searching & Letting go of control

One of my goal this year was to get back into writing for me. As a therapist, business owner, author and human-it’s hard to navigate my own internal battles.

I find that being in the helping profession, it’s often hard to help yourself. I’ve hid behind supporting everyone around me, but this year i made a promise to myself to focus on myself.

I’ve healed through all life has thrown my way, but sometimes i find that hard to confront the idea that it’s ok with not being ok.

If other’s are like me, i want to use my journey to soul search to inspire those around me.

Here are a few things i’ve found helpful, as i navigate new norms within my own life:

1. Sitting with my thoughts and letting my emotions flow naturally

2. The Mel Robbins Podcast episode “Let Them Theory”- this has been on my daily replay list

• Practicing the “Let Them” theory has been the hardest lesson, but most freeing i’ve ever learned. If you struggle with control and accepting that you virtually have no control, this episode is incredibly powerful.

3. Leaning on my supports

4 ) Being proud of how you show up

• If i can say i loved someone with all my heart or showed up exactly how i felt was authentic, than i can be at peace with knowing that i’ve been honest with myself. This is a powerful lesson. You can be exactly who you are and one day someone (or people in your circle) will value you for you.
• Accepting you are not “too much” and that you heart is pure. The right people in your life will find value in you, but you have to value yourself first.

5. I find peace in my spirituality

For now, i am taking things one day, one hour, and one minute at a time. If that is all you can do, be proud of yourself for showing up for yourself.
