The Australian National Costume

Sofia Miya/ Sofiya Iya aka Ms. Ramfel Pacifico-Huggins (Miss TS Australia 2013 Winner) wearing the innovative and trailblazing “ The Australian National Costume” during the 2015 Miss International Queen Pageant held in Pattaya, The Kingdom of Thailand. With this illuminated get-up it is the first time that LED lighting and effects were used as part of a National Costume presentation on an International Cultural Competition dated 7 November 2015. Designed, conceptualized and created by Ramfel Pacifico-Huggins together with costume maker artist Aldo Loquinario of Cebu City, the Philippines both created a very important Cultural Heritage milestone for Australia a long lasting legacy of the FILIPINO DIASPORA to Australia’s Modern and Multicultural National Identity. I consider this as my success story and the success story of all migrants of this country from the story of how Aboriginal Australians migrated from the African continent to our latest migrants who are the newest Australians through citizenship. The story of The Australian National Costume is the story of the greatest potential of ordinary citizens to be who they wanted to be in the digital age of humanity where verifiable proof of works can now be checked on its authenticity through social media and digital identity that are widely known and pinpointed through the strict KYC POLICIES that have always been placed by regulators and institutions that guards the safety, identity and human reality for proper accreditation to our own Intellectual Properties and creations.
