there are days when everything feels too much, and on those days i look for you in the smallest comforts.

sa bawat masakit na salitang binabato sa ’kin, sa bawat iyak na binubuhos kasabay ng pagod na aking dinarama, sa gitna ng lahat, may parte pa rin sa ‘kin na gustong sabihan ka.

i draft a message — “i’m tired today, i wish you were here.” then delete it. stare at the dates of our last messages. and sit with what’s no longer there.

i guess life tends to be that way — letting people stay just long enough to bring warmth, to heal, to laugh with, to feel safe with — even if it’s short.

at least, for a brief moment in time, may napagsumbongan ka.

to grieve what was lost, whether because of their passing, different paths, or simply friends outgrowing each other.

what a privilege it is to have something you could lose.

“i miss you…”

“i know we haven’t talked as much as we used to but…”

“but i know, you wouldn’t be the one to judge, so, here i am.”

so, i look towards the sun setting, to look at the ending with such fondness despite the bitterness of its passing. to bathe in its warmth and its fleeting beauty. to hurt by its leaving but to still recognize the importance of its briefness.

what a privilege it is to grieve what was lost — by death, distance, or the quiet ache of outgrowing.

what a privilege it is to feel the absence of something once beautiful.

what a privilege it is to look at the ending with fondness, even when it stings.

what a privilege it is to have people you wish stayed longer.

what a privilege it is to carry memory as proof of love.

what a privilege it is to feel everything — even the letting go.

to experience life in its entirety. ❤
