Day 3 — Types of Cloud Services and Deployment Models
Types of Cloud Services
Cloud mainly offers 3 services

1. IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service):
IaaS provides virtualized computing infrastructure over the Internet. Users can rent virtual machines, storage, and networking components on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Example: Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines.
2. PaaS (Platform as a Service):
PaaS delivers a platform allowing users to develop, run, and manage applications without dealing with the complexities of the underlying infrastructure. It includes development tools, middleware, and other services.
Example: Heroku, Google App Engine, Microsoft Azure App Service.
3. SaaS (Software as a Service):
SaaS delivers fully functional software applications over the Internet. Users access the software through a web browser without worrying about installation, maintenance, or hardware requirements.
Example: Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace.
Cloud Deployment Models
It refers to how cloud computing resources and services are provisioned, managed, and made available to users.
1. Private Cloud:
In a private cloud deployment, computing resources and services are dedicated to a single organization. The infrastructure can be owned, managed, and operated either by the organization itself (on-premises private cloud) or by a third-party provider exclusively for that organization (hosted private cloud).
2. Public Cloud:
In a public cloud deployment, computing resources and services are shared among multiple organizations and are made available to the general public over the Internet. The infrastructure is owned and operated by a third-party cloud service provider.
3. Hybrid Cloud:
A hybrid cloud deployment model combines elements of both private and public clouds. It allows data and applications to be shared between them, providing greater flexibility and optimization of resources. Organizations can use a mix of on-premises, private cloud, and public cloud services based on their specific needs.
