To achieve long service life and stable operation of HDPE pipelines, scientific material selection and reasonable system design are essential. Choose raw materials with stable molecular weight and qualified pressure grade, ensuring compliance with industrial standards for corrosion resistance, creep resistance and long-term strength. For slurry, mining, sewage and other harsh working conditions, select thick-walled or specially modified HDPE pipes to enhance anti-scouring and anti-aging performance. In pipeline layout, minimize sharp bends, reduce local resistance and wear concentration; reasonably set pipe diameter and flow velocity to avoid sedimentation or excessive scouring. For long-distance pipelines, design expansion compensation structures such as natural bending and expansion joints to absorb thermal deformation and prevent stress cracking caused by temperature changes.

2. Key Construction Control for Installation Quality

Strict construction management is the core to ensure the long-term performance of HDPE pipelines. During transportation and storage, pipes shall be protected from sun exposure, heavy impact and sharp scratches, and stacked neatly to avoid oval deformation. Trench foundation shall be tamped evenly and covered with fine sand cushion to remove stones and hard objects, preventing partial stress and damage. The welding process must be operated in strict accordance with specifications: control the heating temperature, pressure and cooling time of hot-melt butt welding, remove surface oxidation layer before welding, and prohibit disturbance during cooling. For electrofusion connection, keep the socket area clean and in place without forced assembly. During backfilling, fine soil shall be used for layered compaction, and mechanical rolling directly on the pipe body is prohibited. Supports and piers shall be set reasonably at bends, tees and valves to fix the pipeline stably and avoid displacement and vibration.

3. Operation, Maintenance and Daily Management

Standardized operation and maintenance can greatly extend the service life of HDPE pipelines and maintain efficient transmission performance. During operation, strictly control the working pressure and temperature within the rated range, avoid long-term overpressure, overheating or frequent start-stop shocks to prevent pipe fatigue and damage. Slow operation of valves is recommended to reduce water hammer effect. Regularly inspect the pipeline appearance for deformation, cracks, abrasion and joint leakage; check the stability of supports and backfill settlement to eliminate hidden dangers in time. For pipelines exposed outdoors, anti-UV protection measures shall be taken to delay aging. In case of blockage or wear, clean and repair in a standardized way without using violent impact or high-temperature baking. Through scientific daily management, HDPE pipelines can maintain high flow efficiency, low failure rate and long-term stable performance in engineering applications.
