OnePlus 15 vs Oppo Find X9 Pro: Which One’s a Better Choice For You

The flagship segment is absolutely winning this year, with the launch of the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoCs. You have these stalwart SoCs, which are now powering two of the most popular Android phones in the segment, Oppo Find X9 Pro and OnePlus 15, respectively.

Here’s a comparison based on what we know of the two phones so far, and you can thus make your decision on which may be the best one for you.

What I don’t enjoy is how similar they look, with their boxy design, and the almost similar, boring camera module. The other color variations are more appealing.

But that’s much less important compared to what they are packed with, and their output. So, let’s get into it!

Display

Both phones have a 6.78-inch AMOLED LTPO display with visuals in 1.5K high-quality.

• The Find X9 Pro gets brighter, with a stunning 3600 nits peak brightness. Its max refresh rate is 120Hz. The bezels are basically non-existent in this one.
• OnePlus 15 emphasizes fluidity for gaming. With a 165Hz refresh rate and very high touch sampling, it is super smooth when it comes to gaming. Its peak brightness is lower, around 1800 nits, which is decent but pales under direct sunlight or HDR-heavy use compared to the Find X9 Pro.

Camera

This is a major make-or-break point for users. The Oppo is one of the camera phones in the segment so far, and OnePlus just isn’t even close to being at par.

• The Find X9 Pro, in collaboration with Hasselblad, has a 50MP Sony LYT-828 main sensor plus a 50MP ultrawide and a 200MP telephoto lens with OIS —one of the most versatile and highest-resolution zoom capabilities on any phone, and 4K video recording. The selfie camera is also a 50MP. The results and image processing are just top-tier.
• OnePlus 15 also has a triple 50MP setup with a wide-angle main camera, ultrawide, and a telephoto lens. It adds 8K video recording at 30 fps, which looks incredible on paper. However, the overall camera quality, especially zoom detail and performance in low-light, lags way behind Find X9 Pro.

Performance and Gaming

• The Find X9 Pro comes with the Dimensity 9500 SoC with similar RAM and storage variants. While it isn’t marketed as a gaming flagship, it still handles heavy games like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves smoothly, often delivering 60–120fps, depending on settings. Most importantly, it does this with less heat- sustained gaming sessions showed only minor thermal increase. Multitasking is also smooth across several apps running at the same time, and minimal to no thermals.
• The OnePlus runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with the Adreno 840 GPU, and comes with up to 16 GB LPDDR5X + UFS 4.1 storage. It delivers the highest benchmark scores among the two. However, it tends to throttle after bursts of super-powerful performance in the phone, whether during gaming or multitasking. For gaming, its 165Hz display + 3200Hz touch sampling + advanced cooling means ultra-smooth frame rates and excellent responsiveness.

Battery and Charging

• The Find X9 Pro packs a huge 7500mAh silicon-carbon battery, quite a crazy number for a flagship. Battery tests show excellent endurance, and it lasts up to 2 days even with moderate-heavy usage. It supports 80W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
• The OnePlus 15 isn’t far behind with a 7300mAh battery, 120W wired fast-charging, plus 50W wireless charging. The battery life also stretches to a full day or more.

Verdict

For a user who values a balanced flagship that excels at photography, battery life, display brightness and everyday performance, the Find X9 Pro is the more well-rounded modern phone.

On the other hand, if you’re a power user and gamer who wants maximum performance, speed and fast charging, the OnePlus 15 may be the one for you.
