a place is not a home until you dwell in it nor is the heart a home until you know and believe in yourself and breathe into its magic
it’s also when friends and family come to visit to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and good times together or when your kids are still living with you a place to grow up
it’s special because it’s your place where the wonderful scents of your cooking fills the kitchen wafting into other rooms
each room shares its own perfume and candor a place to work, exercise, sleep, and live your best life in each room
the office shredder does its job almost daily a place to write done daily too where the magic begins and stories are weaved
clothes piled up in baskets in the laundry room wooden folding doors hide them minimizing the sounds of machines at work
another room with two beds and a trundle for family and grandchildren designed just for them children and teen likeables on walls, with tables and plenty of stuff to do to keep them busy
a living room for relaxing and crocheting while watching a favorite show or for taking a nap — aah, finally getting to sit down and rest for a while
the main bedroom, a favorite room where exercise and sleep bring smiles and rest bookcases with books of fiction and learning to keep me in reading mode the walls happily filled with artworks of flowers
there’s a lovely sun porch in the back surrounded in five large windows with flowers and budding plants in pots on plant stands, the room with the most light full of a day’s energy, warm with comfy places to sit a windchime machine to lull you to rest helping to set a calm atmosphere
home for me is a balm at the end of the day or whenever I come back to it every room, each décor, represents me making me feel special as I feel about each room
every room comforts me a place of sorts where tears were shed, illnesses were healed, laughter and love were shared, where everyday tasks were done
I feel at home when I’m with my family and friends, but having a home with a roof over your head is something to be cherished for not everyone has one to be sheltered from the rain and the cold, to live out a life
your heart makes a home within the walls of your place, and most of all, it is within the hearts of all those you love.
Thanks for reading.
