A Metaphysics of Gumbo

or: how the world was made in a boil pot

First, it is know that many gods make many worlds, and for as many gods, there are as many worlds; each with their simmer-pot and method.

It is known that many gods begin with roux: — — soft stagnation, flour, bleached to pure maintenance — — soft fluidity, lard, rarefied to supple revolution — — heat, at the hands of a god, they are synthesized into roux: dark primordial chaos, a few shades away from burnt.

It is known that chaos needs shape - that some gods boil okra down to the effluvia of the world that sacred matrix which thickens chaos into forms that some gods leave their worlds thin, and liquid with chaos and wait to thicken forms with ground filé after they have stewed

It is known that chaos needs color - that the gods invoke the trinity — — the stringed forms of connection, — — regimented into ordered stalks of celery — — the diced forms of boundary — — stretched taught across the surface of bell pepper — — the sharp forms of diffusion — — tucked tight into the skin of onion and that the gods stew the world, and the forms mingle, and with the gods choice of time, new forms are born

It is known, that color is not only forms, but spirit and that the gods crack shells and bones, and stew chicken, shrimp, and andouille and fortify the tripartite forms with purpose, and protein with the spirit of creation and the will of carnal energy

It is known that the world was plain, first, and cooked with great care, grains fluffed and watered, and prepped

It is known, finally that the gods poured, from a ladle the forms and medium and spirit, over the indecent material, and in this process, the forms became new, and diverse and were struck with spice, by small gods of consumption,

It is know that now, the world waits its end in this comingling of Gumbo and Grain.
