“Movin’ and Shakin”

By the LCB Enforcement and Education Team

Spring is in the air and with it change and new growth. At the LCB, Enforcement and Education’s liquor staff are reorganizing to better align resources with division needs and provide more focused oversight of programs (effective April 1, 2026).

What can you expect?

Day to day, licensees won’t see much, if any, difference. Your local LCB officer and consultants will stay the same, and for many, your regional office will not change.

Tacoma Office Update

One of the most significant changes is in the Tacoma area. The Tacoma field office has closed and in-person service at that location is not available. This does not mean support is gone, it has just moved. Officers in that region will still work with licensees in their normal field areas but are now based out of the **Olympia HQ building. **It is open to the public Tuesday — Thursday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Changes to West Side Regional Coverage

Another notable change is Enforcement and Education liquor retail management is shifting from four regions to three. The three current regions on the west side of the state (Northwest, Central, Southwest) will become two: Northwest (NW) and Southwest (SW). The NW will cover Seattle and the Captain from the former Central region will oversee the SW region. The number of officers, consultants, supervisors, and licensee’s points of contact will be the same. The east side region has no changes. These changes are set to take effect April 1.
