Ur Ex vs. Hitler

“I think it’s stupid.”

“No! I’m allowed to throw this thing away!” she says while holding a charger with her knuckles.

“Because it belongs to your EX?” he ask with a mouthful of apple that he bites of his hand, leaning agains the wall, a trashcan right by his foot.

“No, …because of Hitler’s sweater.” her gaze focused as she continue folding the pile of clothes in front of her, maybe to also avoid eye contact with him.

“Oh, don’t even begin with that idea, ok?,” he laugh, almost choking. “I get it, the idea that an object can be ‘eMoTioNaLly ConTaMiNAteD’ bla bla blaa, but common’ you’re really gonna waste a perfectly good charger?”

“I’m simply giving it away to someone else.” She then stopped folding for a second to ask “Would you wear Hitler’s sweater?”

He snorts, “Absurd.” then he takes another bite.

“Answer me!”

“That is so typical of you, you know that it’s an illogical — wasteful human error, right? common’… You are tying your emotional disgust to an object, when it’s just a mundane everyday object!”

“More mundane than a sweater?” she chuckles while setting aside one sweater, then she continues folding “Riddle me this! according to your statement, humans aren’t logical creatures, rather an emotional ones. Knowing this, wouldn’t it be the most logical answer to chose the emotionally righteous choice?

If the charger carry emotional weight for me, wouldn’t it be best to dispose it?”

“Again, that’s too absurd. And its not apple to apple to metaphorically compare Hitler with your ex, on your end. I mean the bad deed between the two is way… incomparable! I still think humans should make more logical actions. Just, ignore the memories of ur ex.”

“Maybe, it is incomparable, I’ll give u that. But can you force logic to everyone?,” she put down the last pile of clothes as he had just finished eating. His foot stepping on the trashcan pedal, tossing out the apple’s core.

She put on the sweater she had set aside while trying to hide her smirk, “Or here’s a better question you haven’t answer: would you, or would you not, wear Hitler’s sweater?” She said, the sweater is revealed to have the word ‘gotcha!’ on it.

Both smiles,

He opened the trashcan again, nodding towards the charger.

“Touche.”
