If I were to face you

A poem from a long time ago

If I were to face you, what would you say? How would you hold me, And how would we spend the day?

I am so lost inside, As it would seem. Lost in that vision, In that very dream!

What did God show me, on that very night? As I slept so soundly, Where there is no light.

I saw happiness, and it was you! Holding you close, It felt so true!

Yet I awoke, and left you there. In that very dream, With you I did share.

To awake sadly, into a lonely life. Where I will not hold you, or call you my wife.

Why did God show me, These visions from above? Exposing my feelings, Knowing its you I love.

For it seems a very joke, that is so very cruel. For my sadness and loneliness, This dream does fuel.

Even though I know, its you I endeavor. To have and hold, and to cherish forever.

You do not express love, from a deep that lies inside. Either you don’t love me, or from your feelings you hide.

Yet at one brief moment, not far in the past. You told me you love me, I felt a joy that did not last.

For now I feel no love, from you anymore. There is nothing from you, As it was before.

Maybe these words of love, was said by you in haste. Maybe I am not worthy, Then love for me will be a waste.

I’m not really sure anymore, If you said you love me. Maybe that was a dream, of something I wanted to see.

All I know, of what I should do. Is to write a poem, that says I love you.

Maybe now I will go, from your life to disappear. Wondering if you, would even shed a tear.

Hoping you will speak, hoping you will say. That you really love me, And want me to stay.

I ask God, to end my loneliness. For my heart is caught, In a load of stress.

Yet I can’t make you, love me from the start. It has to come, from deep in your heart.

So I wonder deeply, when we meet at that place. What will you do, when its me you face?
