The Disappearing Man
From nowhere.
The Disappearing Man
From nowhere.

We all knew this bloke, though no one was sure Where he lived, what he did, or anything more About where he came from, because nobody knew Wherever he’d come from when into the Town, he blew
He was a friendly sort of fellow, a pleasant bloke. And wouldn’t hold back with a yarn, a laugh, or a joke And even though he talked, he never gave us a clue Of whom he was or what the man knew.
One evening at the Pub, when most of us were drinking He joined us for a drink that set our minds to thinking Who was this bloke, and even when he spoke, we thought Was he in trouble on the run? Who knew what to believe?
At closing that night, we stood out on the track And when he said goodnight, he never came back He just walked out of the Pub to the end of the road And as the man disappeared, a blackbird crowed.
