Review: Narnia Series, Book 2: Prince Caspian — C.S. Lewis
Review: Narnia Series, Book 2: Prince Caspian — C.S. Lewis
Synopsis:
In this sequel, the original characters are unable to reenter Narnia for some time. However, once they finally do get back, Narnia is much different than before. Their palace has been destroyed, the lands are unfamiliar, and a new force has taken over. The gang must figure what has happened to their beautiful land and how they can save it.
Cons:
Much like the previous book, some of the moments in the book feel unearned or too easy, specifically the final fight scene in this book.
Pros:
The mystery of Narnia’s change drives the story very strong right from the start, and the lore behind it is even better. Not everyone likes Prince Caspian as a character, but I found him very compelling and fun. The characters are also more fleshed out than they were in the first book.
Content:
Some good old fashioned sword dueling and a minor (sort of off-screen) character death.
Score:
3/5
A good continuation to the first
