Here’s to Juice WRLD, one of my favorite artists.

Jared Anthony Higgins, better known by his stage name Juice WRLD, wasn’t just a musician to me — he was a soundtrack to a pivotal moment in my life. For a while, he was the only artist I could bring myself to listen to. Every song, every verse, seemed to speak directly to the confusion, pain, and heartache I was experiencing. His albums, often centered around themes of heartbreak and vulnerability, became the backdrop to my own emotional journey.

At that time, I was dealing with a painful breakup and the upheaval of being sent back to my home state. In that liminal space, where nothing felt familiar or safe, Juice WRLD’s music became a kind of refuge. I would play his tracks on repeat, letting the melodies and lyrics carry me through nights I couldn’t navigate on my own.

Eventually, I returned to listening to my other favorite artists, hoping to feel that same spark of connection I once had. But nothing felt quite the same. The raw, unfiltered honesty Juice WRLD poured into his music had created a unique bond, one that reminded me that sometimes, a single voice can capture a moment in your life so completely that everything else feels muted in comparison.
