EKOPLESKAR d.o.o. ENTERS ITALIAN MARKET WITH ACQUISITION OF COLORIFICIO 2M

Based on the reporting of the online newspaper Finance.si, company Ekopleskar d.o.o., led by CEO Mladen Mihajlović, has successfully completed the acquisition of the Italian company Colorificio 2M S.n.c., a manufacturer of water-based paints and coatings from Italy’s Puglia region.

Ekopleskar, headquartered in Limbuš, Slovenia, employs around 50 professionals and holds an A+ credit rating. In 2024, the company reported revenues of EUR 3.58 million. By acquiring Colorificio 2M, established in 1983 and located in Vicenza with more than 2,000 square meters of retail, storage, and educational facilities, Ekopleskar significantly strengthens its presence in the European market.

“The acquisition of Colorificio 2M represents a crucial step in our international expansion strategy. By combining Slovenia’s ecological approach with Italian manufacturing traditions, we aim to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for the broader European market,” stated CEO Mihajlović.

The acquisition follows several months of negotiations, including detailed analyses of synergies in production, R&D, and distribution channels. Among the critical factors enabling the successful acquisition were shared values, particularly a focus on sustainability, innovation, and high-quality products.

Ekopleskar plans to leverage the combined production capacities of both companies to optimize manufacturing processes and enhance efficiency, thereby increasing competitiveness in the demanding European market. The company also announced plans to significantly boost investment in research and development to further strengthen its portfolio of innovative, environmentally-friendly products.

According to Mihajlović, the integration will be carried out gradually, beginning with joint projects aimed at knowledge exchange and best practice sharing between Slovenian and Italian professionals. Additionally, Ekopleskar will invest further in upgrading manufacturing facilities in Italy over the coming months.

Analysts believe the integration will foster significant innovation and enhance Ekopleskar’s competitiveness in the European market. Moreover, they expect this move to encourage other Slovenian companies to pursue international expansion, demonstrating that Slovenian firms can effectively compete and undertake acquisitions in developed European markets.
