‘Learning Love Through Letting Go’

Love isn’t as smooth as we often imagine. It’s just like a rose- beautiful and tender but with lots of thorns. Every day love cant like soft petals. It can sometimes bleed us.

I personally believe relationships aren’t just about love and romantic fantasies. They build on mutual understandings, respect, transparency, care and consistent efforts from both sides.

Communication plays a key role in a relationship. When partners can properly communicate with openness and honesty, the relationship can grow into a healthy and meaningful one.

In this busy, toxic and emotionally exhausted world, all we need is someone who can understand our happiness and sorrows- someone helps us to show the meaningfulness of life, who can guide, help us to feel the true essence of life. But I’ll also say if we crave for a good and an understanding partner we also have to be like that.

I recently went through a breakup after almost two years of being in a relationship. It was my first relationship. And that’s why it was extremely painful. It affected and exhausted me emotionally, mentally and even physically. I won’t deny that I felt anger and frustration too. The people who are emotionally connected will understand this heavy feeling.

When we love deeply, we begin to imagine the future with that person. As a girl I dreamt of marrying him and living a peaceful life with him. But after that breakup that part of the imagined future shattered and then slowly faded away. It felt like losing an entire world- a future that no longer existed. I can say this feeling as the loss of the future world or dimension. I think some of you have faced this in your life as well.

I have tried my best to save my relationship. But I failed to save my relationship. With time I’ve realised that perhaps we both had faults. No one is perfect. Still communication plays a key role in any relationship. And I didn’t receive that kind of communication which was really needed. And now I realise that what is meant to happen will happen, and whoever is meant to leave will leave- no matter how hard we try. You cannot force anyone to stay. At the end of the day it’ll hurt you badly, and you don’t know whom to share. I know that there’ll be few people who can help us. But we don’t want to expose our relationship to them. I am sharing these to all of you as I’ve faced or you can say experienced that.

One of my friends said once that stayed with me-

“You know that we gain our academic experiences through college or university degrees and certificates. But your previous relationship helped you gain some experience of life’s lesson of how to recognise people. It’s just like a college experience-but without any degree or certificate.”

I couldn’t agree more.

Earlier I doubted myself, I questioned my love, now I believe that though I had faults, I’ve genuinely tried to protect my relationship. Sometimes effort alone isn’t enough when your partner isn’t willing to provide the same things.

I’m not asking for fancy dates or expensive gifts. All ever I just need a bit of soft and caring and sweet behaviour- and I was ready to give the same. Just as not every lid fits every jar, not everyone is meant for each other

If you’re reading this, I hope you understand what I’m trying to say.

I’m at the end of my writing. I want to share one final thought- Please don’t hold any grudge against someone you once loved. Don’t make your pure, soft and genuine love smaller by carrying resentment. Instead focus on yourself, try to learn new things or skills, give yourself enough time, focus on your health, embrace the small happiness of life and heal yourself completely. Take care of yourself. And first accept and embrace yourself with flaws and try to fix those before going to any other relationship. Take care ❤️✨
