Pepitas in the Dark

Last night I toddled into the bathroom to change into my nightgown and get ready for bed, and as I pulled off my shirt and bra I heard some tiny but solid thing hit the floor.

“Damn!” I thought. “Some pill fell down my cleavage while I wasn’t looking and now it’s on the floor where Alys could eat it and DIE!”

So I stood up and looked around and sure enough, there was a small, dark, capsule shaped object on the floor around the side of the toilet. At least that’s what my old tired eyes saw without my glasses. I cannot bend down far enough to pick things up off the floor, and the grabbers are very bad at picking up tiny things.

So I hollered for Brandon, who came in and bent down and picked up the object, which turned out to be a pepita (pumpkin seed).

I love munching on pepitas and it is not at all unusual for one or more to end up in my bra. Alys loves them too, which made my hysteria to get it up off the floor particularly ironic.
