To Love Is a Cliché, Sacrifice Is Agape
The heart of a father is the masterpiece of nature.
To Love Is a Cliché, Sacrifice Is Agape

Tears wet my eyes as I write thus,
You’ve set the standard for me.
Now I know, to be a father is to be godlike.
Royalty needs no throne, I am my father’s child,
living freely, unbound.
Lovers have jilted each other,
but the one who sacrifices is agape, my father.
I am selfish.
I desire you live forever, You are my anchor,
and to lose you would be a gain to Christ.
And though I am indebted to you,
can I outlove you?
With tears, you’ve loved me,
and even in your sorrow,
there is passion.
Angels wear Buba and Sokoto.
One visited me when I was little and sick.
I told Mother.
I love you, Father,
and it is beyond me.
Joy stirs my heart into compassion,
and this compassion is sorrow,
that you will not be with me one day.
But regardless,
my father is immortal.
