As I’ve mentioned before, my family has been watching the excellent Poirot series on PBS over the last few months, and now and then I enjoy an episode so much I’m inspired to go read the original.

This time around it was Peril At End House, thoroughly enjoyable both as a TV episode and a novel. I don’t have much to say about it, not because Dame Agatha is above criticism, but because I don’t feel I have all that much to contribute.

As usual, though, I also find I don’t have much to say because as a mystery reader, I consider myself a bit clueless (oh, sorry…pun not intended, but kept anyway). It’s been several months since I watched the show, and didn’t remember whodunit, so reading the story was proof (to me) that I’m terrible at picking up clues and was taken by surprise at the end: it completely snuck up on me.

Anyway, Agatha Christie is simply delicious to read, and I have several other of her novels lined up for future enjoyment.
