US might not always be in the lead, since Xunlei launched its blockchain platform

Since the internet technology has been gradually civilianized 30 years ago, the US has controlled the internet industry for relevant technological innovations. At present, blockchain technology is being regarded as the new force of the future development all around the world. According to Juniper Research, six of ten large corporations are either actively considering or in the process of deploying blockchain technology. But can they really make a breakthrough?

The good news may come first from China. At Global Software Development Conference in Beijing today, Xunlei (some might be familiar with this internet firm in China for its download acceleration) launched its super blockchain platform, called ThunderChain, which can handle millions of transactions per second and create a block per second. It is designed to enable developers to build decentralization applications.

Commercialized and phenomenal level blockchain applications are the dreams of people who are working on breakthroughs in this industry. Consider the technical bottlenecks (Ethereum blockchain supports roughly 15 transactions per second), applications that meet the demand haven’t landed on a large scale yet. Xunlei creates its own homogeneous multichain framework, which enables multiple transactions to be executed on different chains in parallel. Besides, Xunlei is already partnering with corporates and non-for-profit organizations to develop and implement blockchain applications that address key challenges facing the real economy. This shows the hope that blockchain 3.0 might just around the corner.

New technologies will soon open the door to a wide variety of amazing blockchain applications. This time, China may be in the lead.
