Fertilizers are chemical substances supplied to the crops to increase their productivity. These are used by the farmers daily to increase the crop yield.

Agriculture is the back bone of Pakistan economy. And Fertilizers play important role in proper lifting of crops and agriculture land.

In 2018, fertilizer consumption for Pakistan was 156 kilograms per hectare. Fertilizer consumption of Pakistan increased from 10.1 kilograms per hectare in 1969 to 156 kilograms per hectare in 2018 growing at an average annual rate of 6.20%.

What fertilizer is used in Pakistan?

In Pakistan, farmers predominantly use Urea (46:0:0) and DAP (18:46:0). There is a general under application of Potash (K) fertilizers leading to crop yields far lower than the potential. The Nitrogen (N) in Urea and DAP is provided by ammonia, a raw material derived from natural gas.

What were the challenges that I’ve faced in the past or now towards achieving this?

In pursue of this goal, the challenges I’ve faced or facing multiple challenges like rumors, nepotism behavior, tough to find the preparatory materials.

In order to achieve this I worked hard in my BS program and achieved Gold Medal so that I can be a better option in clusters.

What did I learn from this experience?

What basically I learn from the experiences is the Hard Work is key to success. And hard work gives hard time.

Fortunately, my first aim, Entering The Engro Corps. through their graduate training program, is coming this month. It means is during this Fellowship program. This also means that I’m really short on time.
